Tired of dry, expensive protein bars? Get the homemade, cheap, and delicious version, with 15 grams of protein per bar, no mixer and no oven needed.
Ingredients
- 1 cup natural peanut butter (250g)
- 1/2 cup natural silan (date syrup)
- 3 tablespoons unsweetened apple sauce (about 50g)
- 3.5 scoops vegan vanilla protein powder (about 105g)
- 2 cups puffed rice cereal
- Pinch of coarse salt (optional)
- Half a teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, mix the silan and apple sauce. Add the peanut butter and stir until smooth.
- Add the protein powder and mix until it reaches a play-dough-like consistency.
- Add the puffed rice cereal and knead with your hands until fully coated.
- Press firmly into a small square pan lined with parchment paper.
- Freeze for two hours.
- Cut into 10 rectangles and drizzle with peanut butter mixed with silan.
Tips
If the mixture is too dry, you can add a tablespoon of water. Store the bars in a sealed container in the freezer.
