Leave dairy yogurt behind and say hello to your glorious homemade soy yogurt.
I think this is the easiest soy yogurt recipe on earth, and it mainly consists of three main parts and a lot of probiotic bacteria.
For those unfamiliar with the benefits of probiotics, I'll explain that these are good bacteria that reside in our intestines and are responsible, among other things, for proper digestion. A lack of these bacteria can cause digestive discomfort, gas, abdominal pain, and irregular bowel movements. Daily consumption of yogurt with probiotic bacteria increases the efficiency of the immune system, helps reduce intra-abdominal pressure, and optimizes bowel activity.

Soy Yogurt
What you need:
- 1 liter soy milk
- A small container of soy yogurt (220 grams) or 5 probiotic capsules (can be purchased over-the-counter at Super-Pharm)
What to do:
- Heat the soy milk in a pot until it reaches a temperature of 45 degrees Celsius (until small bubbles form and the milk begins to slightly curdle)
- Remove from heat and transfer to a plastic/ceramic or glass bowl – (absolutely not metal) that has been thoroughly cleaned with soap and water.
- From this stage, the milk must not touch any metal utensils: neither the bowl nor the spoon. (Probiotic bacteria are very sensitive to metal)
- Wait until the milk cools slightly and the bowl is comfortable to touch with bare hands
- Add the yogurt or probiotic capsules and mix well with a wooden spoon.
- Cover with a clean towel and place in a warm spot for 8 to 48 hours (depending on the room temperature)
- You should get a bowl full of fresh and delicious soy yogurt.
Don't forget to save a little yogurt for next time. (Enough for 3-4 times)
Suggestions:
- You can also make it from coconut milk (for fans of the genre) or cashew milk
- You can strain the yogurt for an additional night using a cheesecloth, with added salt and lemon, to create amazing probiotic soy cheese.
