A quick and easy recipe for pasta in a surprising sauce based on chickpeas and tomatoes, which gives a creamy texture without tasting the chickpeas.
Ingredients
- 1 package pasta
- 1 can chickpeas (about 200g)
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, crushed
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and black pepper
- Fresh dill for garnish
Instructions
- Cook the pasta according to package directions.
- While the pasta is cooking, heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat.
- Add the crushed garlic and fry for about a minute until fragrant.
- Add the tomato sauce and chickpeas to the pan. Mix well until the chickpeas dissolve and a uniform, creamy sauce is obtained.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste. If the sauce is too thick, you can add a little of the pasta cooking water.
- Drain the cooked pasta and transfer it to the pan with the sauce. Mix well so that the sauce coats all the pasta.
- Serve immediately, garnished with chopped fresh dill and a little cracked black pepper.
Tips
For an richer texture, you can use chickpeas with added tahini. Also, you can add additional spices to the sauce such as sweet paprika or oregano.
