The World's Best Chocolate Mousse - Only 5 Ingredients
Yes, it contains tofu.
No, you can't taste the tofu at all.
No, you cannot use regular tofu.
You can find silken tofu in health food stores and the organic sections of supermarkets.
Great. Now that we've cleared that up, let's get started.

I don't call it the world's best chocolate mousse for nothing—it truly is.
Imagine a rich, extra-chocolatey, and exceptionally creamy mousse.
If you eat legumes during Passover, this is absolutely the mousse for you.
You can make it right before serving or put it in the fridge, where it will set even further.
In my opinion, it can even serve as a wonderful base for cakes.
Silken tofu has the ability to easily absorb a large amount of chocolate while maintaining a wonderful texture and providing nutritional value along the way.
True, this is in no way a low-calorie recipe, but you can—and should—devour a chocolate mousse like this every now and then when the craving strikes. Don't you agree?
A Bit About the World's Best Chocolate Mousse

As I wrote above at the beginning of the post—the base of the recipe is silken tofu.
Silken tofu is tofu that has had less water pressed out during the preparation process than the regular tofu you might know.
This gives it a texture similar to panna cotta, and it also contains fewer calories due to its high liquid content.
There are two common types of silken tofu: one found in the refrigerated section (like Unicurd or Yokko Tofu) labeled as "Traditional Japanese Style Soft Tofu."
The second type is usually found on the shelf (shelf-stable packaging), like Pacific Nutritional Foods Inc., labeled "Silken Tofu."
Both types come in different firmness levels (soft or firm), but both are very soft compared to regular tofu. I haven't quite figured out the difference between the "soft" and "firm" silken varieties yet—to me, they are both perfectly soft for this recipe.
You cannot make this recipe with regular tofu. It's simply not the same thing.
In this recipe, I used 300g of dark chocolate.
If you prefer, you can reduce the amount of chocolate by up to 2/3 (leaving 100g). You'll get a mousse that is less sweet and indulgent, but still delicious in my opinion.
To add interest, I added some spices like cinnamon and cardamom. You can skip them or swap them for any spice you love, like chili, mint, or a bit of orange juice. Go wild—the worst that can happen is that it turns out delicious.
The maple syrup's job is to add a bit of extra sweetness to the tofu. You can skip it if you're not in the mood for something very sweet.
